Who’s This Cletus Fella?

Well, pull up a chair and grab a biscuit, ‘cause I’m about to spin you a yarn. I’m Cletus Boone, born in the backwoods of Kentucky, where the bluegrass whispers and the smell of sizzling bacon wakes you up better than any rooster. My story starts in a rickety ol’ cabin, where Mama’d be at the stove before dawn, her skillet singin’ with the promise of cornbread and sausage gravy so good it’d make a possum jealous. Me? I was the kid sneakin’ extra helpings, lickin’ the spoon, and learnin’ every trick to make a breakfast that sticks to your ribs and warms your soul.

Growin’ up, our kitchen was the heart of our holler. Neighbors’d wander in, drawn by the aroma of coffee brewin’ and biscuits risin’. Granny’d tell tales of her mama’s flapjacks, Daddy’d brag about his fried egg secrets, and I’d soak it all up like sorghum on a hotcake. Those mornin’s taught me that food ain’t just fuel—it’s love, it’s family, it’s a story told one bite at a time. That’s why I started Cletus Cook House: to share the Southern breakfasts that raised me, from creamy grits that’d hush a thunderstorm to pancakes fluffier than a summer cloud.
